Who's Choice Is It?

Day 2,127, 21:05 Published in Canada Canada by Connor MacLeod

It's been a long and laborious road we've traversed since the last eCanadian Congress. We as a nation have had our trials and prevailed from them a wiser, more united nation (and arguably financially poorer) as a result. It's a credit to all who contributed in any capacity that we are able to elect representatives to debate the issue of the day and pass legislation to shape our nation in the image we want.

Congress...elected by the people...shaping our nation. The balance of power between congress and the executive has undergone give and take over the many terms since I started in the game. In times of crisis power concentrates inward, in times of luxury congress drinks lustily from the chalice of government power.

There are those who wish to rail against the thought of an outsider setting the future our alliance path. eCanada has always embraced outsiders from other communities. It's the way we attract new talent and ideas to our community. It helps expose us to other communities in the game.

Inviting and empowering other nationals isn't out issue (despite what some will maintain). No, it is the unchecked empowerment we allow our government that is the source of our troubles.

Provide the balance to power and we have no need for the ongoing witch hunts.
