A recent walk down the memory lane by jar4yk at https://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-1344-2769547/1/20 made me think: what is this “economy” everyone’s talking about?

Despite all the wars and fighting in this game, it is really all about the economy. Half the missions and most of the daily challenges directly point you towards producing more products and raw materials. You can also supply you business endeavours by taking advantage of the following auxillary rewards:
- The weekly prestige points bar gives you more energy to work and also more storage.
- Fighting, politics and even journalism can lead to medals and some gold rewards.
- You can also use 5 of the 5 types of products produced directly in-gane instead of selling them, if you’re into the whole war thingy (7 out of 7, if you count rockets and bazookas).

But of course, you’ll also pay some taxes while you’re building your business empire. Luckily, most countries employ the libertarian-style minuscule taxes rated at 1% for most types of work, production and sales. That is almost funny, right? 😂

And finally, there’s even a factory building which produces houses - as in, yet another building. Producing these is really fun since the only cost involved is the raw materials used - and you collect those one by one from your daily challenges, producing a full house in a week or so, starting at 20% per day, but sometimes lagging to 9.11 instea😛
- i have no idea what’s going on here.
A special thank you goes to driver_sti, who is an economy genius, and his production calculator ( https://www.erepublik.com/en/article/yet-another-production-calculator-v-2-1--2769521 ), which has all the fancy formulas you might neeed when planning to monopolize the world.

So, to summarize: the economy is great, you can produce tons of stuff and earn thousands of money. And all this gives the resource bonus reward for the players to fight for in the wars.

And of course, today we also see two additional attractions, awarding up to 500 gof gold and forcing players into active fighting temporarily, only to return back to the normal peacetime productivity in a week.

So here we are, sellinggold and buying weapons in order to indulge our dormant warmonger instincts, as we drain our energy into the fights and compete in the killings, count the spoils of war and start additional “training” wars to fullfill everyone’s desire for blood. Everyone has a zone to battle in!

But eventually, you’re out of energy, and energy bars, and the bubbles pop with a howling sound of phone notifications from your friends. So you return to the real world, where the elections matter, and the economy is quite real and cruel, and houses are grande and belle. And he life goes on, both at work, and with your family, and you parents, and your kids…

It’s a new day, and some new news. The life goes on, victorious.
