[TRS] Election Statement!

Day 5,802, 00:46 Published in United Kingdom Hungary by Nifty.

We have wrapped up another Presidential election and it was a close one!

We would first and foremost like to thank all of those who voted for MIK and who backed our vision and ideas for the eUK. Sadly we can’t continue our hard work this month, but it was a close fought election so we are encouraged we will be back! We had a great day watching the results come in and seeing MIK in the lead throughout the afternoon. We were absolutely thrilled to come joint first at daychange. We could not have done it without cross party support, so we extend an even harder thanks to all those who supported us from outside the party.

Over the next month we have a good opportunity to take stock, refine our policy offering and identify new ways forward for both the party and the nation as a whole. We feel optimistic - a month of governing saw us roll out a robust new approach to the MoD, refine and rectify MoF accounting practices, and provide a slick MoEnt and Ed offering. Gaining a wide range of support in the recent election has encouraged us to be confident about our approach to government and reassured us that there is appetite for what we can offer.

One thing this election has proven is that there is more to voting than the decisions taken by Party Presidents. This is great to see and will galvanise us into working hard to understand and represent a wide range of views across the eUK. In previous articles we have detailed policies we believe would be for the benefit of the country and having implemented these successfully we now have the challenge of finding yet more ideas and policies to enhance the game and nation for everyone. This however cannot be done by a few players in positions of “importance” on the party page, and will require the thoughts and opinions of people both in and outside of the party. That is why we ask you to assist us with your opinions on what more can be done going forward, whether that means joining TRS or getting in touch to let us know what you think (please do).

Another thing this election has highlighted is just how important it is to appreciate people's opinions, and we are committed to this philosophy. No one is above anyone else in this game and we want everyone to be involved, no matter their level, their age or their own personal view on how the game should be played. New players such as Topboy Mitko show that when we try we can in fact hold on to players and keep them interested, and this gives us hope that we are headed along the right path.

It is worth stating though, that one thing that will not change is our unapologetic outlook on activity and the game itself. We will continue to champion activity in all modules of the game and not just the war module. We will continue to hold ourselves to the standards we expect of e-politicians. We will continue to reflect on our approach to new players as a party and how we can do better and we will continue to ensure the environment new players sign up to is positive and welcoming, which has not always been the case over the preceding months.

As ever, we encourage players that share our outlook to join the The Redacted Squad (TRS!) and help us with achieving our goals to make the eUK a more enjoyable experience. We increasingly feel as though we are unique as a party in this regard so if you find yourself nodding along to anything I have said then consider becoming a member. We have an active community, party feed, and discord. Our revolving leadership and willingness to develop players and share power provides unique opportunities for new and old to grow and gain experience, and to see their views and efforts have an impact on the whole country.

If this sounds like something you would like to participate in then join, and actually be involved in the political scene the party and the game provides. All are welcome, all are supported!

Thanks for your time,
Betafoxtrot
