[TRS] Day 6,000 Giveaway / Competition / Congress Statement

Day 6,000, 04:13 Published in United Kingdom Hungary by Nifty.

Citizens!

To mark the upcoming Congress election and to celebrate day 6,000 we will be distributing carrots to the populace giving away Q5 food and running a competition!

You can also see our Congress statement and list at the bottom of this article but I won’t be offended if the profound and deep euphoria of day 6,000 makes you read only as far as the spinning Wheel of Fortune.

Giveaway

First things first to celebrate eRepublik’s new abundance of carrots we will distribute carrot cake (Q5 food) to every eUK citizen. Yes, every eUK citizen. Happy eating all!

That is not all!

Everyone commenting OR endorsing this article will be considered as having spun… The Wheel of Fortune!

Every WoF entrant will be randomly assigned a number between 1 and 30 with a random number generator. They’ll be allocated a prize according to what they get!

Good luck for your spin, all foods and prizes will be distributed at the weekend!

Congress list

This month the TRS Congress list is a blend of experience, play style and viewpoint. We will continue to represent as broad a cross-section of the population as possible and, as always, emphasise the importance of actively participating in Congress discussions, debates, and votes both in-game and meta.

Discussion and freedom of expression are fundamental to how Congress works, and two ideals baked into the TRS carrot cake. Whereas some parties and members argue for sanctions for dissenting Congress members, less activity in Congress, less issues being debated (and so less accountability and democratic decision making!) we believe Congress can and should play an important role in our e-politics.

This is why I shall encourage and support all our members to participate in e-politics, and certainly to share thoughts and ideas with Congress and the nation. This will capture some of the dynamism lacking in the e-politics of so many places in eRep. Already the push for greater activity in Congress has paid off, discussions on international partnerships have taken place, establishing useful parameters for the MoFA to operate in; donations are organised with returns going directly to our larger creditors, creating transparent records of how money is used; and more queries are being raised regarding how the Government operates, drawing (gradually) more information into the public domain and catalysing discussion and decisions around how we use resources.

These are the achievements of an active Congress, not any one party. But it does pay off to elect members who will contribute to discussions! It has never been more important to expect members to do more than just vote yes on proposals and spend their medal gold. TRS sees meaningful contributions to discourse as adding greater value to e-politics than almost anything else. That is precisely what our members do!

You can view the list of our candidates here.

As always, thanks for reading!
