[TRS] Congress Statement & QUIZ!

Day 5,909, 12:17 Published in United Kingdom Hungary by Nifty.

Dear discerning public,

I am writing this to outline what I think are the key reasons to vote for TRS in the Congress elections, and to share some spoilers as to what's to come for TRS this month.

As has become tradition on voting days, we are running a competition at the foot of the article, open for all to join in, no matter your party, MU, level and so on. Strap in!

Thursday’s Congress elections

We will all be invited to vote on Thursday on the elections page. The TRS Manifesto is still used as our permanent record of what the Party stands for. Backing us on election day helps elect Congresspeople who want to be active, and contribute to an active House of Representatives, and who want to see our politics module and democracy engaged in with good faith by people across the political spectrum. Help us foster an active and positive Congress by voting for TRS!

We encourage our Congresspeople to be civil and engaged. We also value a diversity of opinions, and are keen to allow equal space to new and casual players as we do established politicians. This is represented in our list, and our continuing new players pledge.

If you have an interest in our track record, there are several examples of how TRS has pushed for a well organised and active house. We initiated and voted to enact the Congress Guidelines, to structure our approach to driving consensus in the eUK’s politics. We are advocates of these guidelines and of the Speaker Role, believing that some basic organising benefits the breadth of issues Congress can discuss and helps arrive at clear decisions. At various points our members have reported on Congress activity, to give a broader sense of how people have engaged with our political module. Most notably TRS publishes policy giveaways regularly (there - is - a whole - library - to choose - from!), to stimulate discussion and share ideas outside the party.

We remain committed to a functional and convivial political module, and so we have put together the TRS pledge to focus our minds and to encourage a positive political discourse.

Anyone is free to join up and sign the pledge!

Months ahead

The most pressing thing for TRS to tackle in the coming weeks is finding a new name! For those who don’t know, TRS did stand for The Real Spamicans. After a solid 8 months of driving a gear change in the eUK’s politics, bitter rivals reached out to Hormel foods to ask them to assert copyright (yes, really), and the admins told us we could not use the Spam name or imagery any longer - boo hoo!

So we will be thinking about a meaningful name for the party, updating party pages and the party paper, and probably drawing some fun pictures to go with it all.

As you can imagine, we will keep on doing our best to ensure the eUK is being governed fairly, transparently, and we will keep on producing interesting articles, guides, player resources and of course… games!

TRS’ doors are always open to people who want to join. Don’t be shy, feel more than free to say hello, no matter your level, party, or play style. We want everyone to enjoy eRep and the more people to join in our feed games the better.

But enough about us - the main thing is you go and vote!

POP QUIZ

We have noted several comments about the lack of quizzes and games over the festive period, and at TRS HQ, when it comes to games, we are always happy to oblige!
We have put together the pop quiz below. As always, anyone can contribute, and you’ll be rewarded 10 Q7 Guns for every right answer, so you can win as many as 100 Q7 guns! But don’t think we have over-starched our collars, we will happily pay out rewards to any answers that make us laugh, even if they aren’t correct.

Try not to post your answers in comments, but do send them on to TRS’ resident bean counter Mr Woldy who will go into the spam-cellar to find your rewards as the dust settles on the election.

Thanks for your time!
