Join the new world

In recent months the eUK has been subject to a couple of Declarations of War!. They sound dramatic, and they can be - so far we have been lucky that the nations declaring them, in the face of shifting circumstances, called off plans to attack us. However, this is not always a result of diplomacy - it is more to do with what their goals are in their own military campaigns and if we happen to have any regions that are in the way of achieving them.

This places the fate of the eUK in the hands of other nations, and circumstances outside of our control. To wrestle back a stake in that fate, we should have a plan ready for how to react to a DoW. The following is a policy giveaway and consultation on what we think are simple steps we should follow in the event a nation Declares war on us with hostile intent. The key principle behind it is we should not go down without a fight, and at the very least should be prepared to demonstrate we will be a nuisance if occupied.

Last time we were DoW'd, we just a very vague response from the hostile nation involved and the reaction seemed to be to 'wait and see' what would happen. We have put our heads together to outline what we think are clear practical steps to take in the event it happens again.


In the event of a Declaration of War, we suggest: the Government should seek immediate explanation for the proposal, and if told it is a precaution or part of plan, to ask to know what exactly the plan is!

If there is no or insufficient response, the eUK should prepare for a fight! In the event we are attacked, first impressions will count - we should let the aggressor know we won’t go down without a fight and that occupying us will not be cheap or easy!

In order to do this, preparations whilst the DoW is counting down should include:

1. MoD orders should reflect a need to hold damage and prepare for a battle when the DoW enters its final hours.

2. MU Commanders should be notified and a war-room set up in game and on discord.

3. MoD orders and guidance should state eUK fighters and MUs should await an attack and to try and keep their health high throughout the day so they have as much energy when the battle starts. This will mean encouraging people to work and fight towards the end of their day or until the battle starts.

4. If no donation is running for 400k (or whatever remains in the country accounts) to be donated to The Ministry of Defence.

5. Any TW allies in the region to be consulted on whether they may assist in holding regions, if they themselves are not an ally of the aggressor.

6. MoD Coordination groups to be updated if necessary and any supplies purchased within reasonable limits.

7. The CP and MoD should prepare an account of what funds are available for combat orders.

Following this in the event we are then occupied, a guerrilla campaign should follow, and be coordinated with other military campaigns taking place against the occupying nation.
