'Mermaid mummy'

The mummy with a human-like head and scales running down its back was examined with X-rays and other devices.

The examinations revealed that the mummy was nothing but a dummy made of paper, cotton wool and other materials, while the scales were identified as the skin of a fugu fish.

It was presumably crafted around the late 1800s, according to the final results.
