[MoCH] Health & Sports Day
Nihon no Koe
The second Monday of October is known as Health & Sports Day in Japan. It began after the 1966 Tokyo Summer Olympics as a way to promote sports as well as physical and mental health. Commonly, on this day many schools and businesses will hold a "Field Day" or "Sports Day" containing various kinds of events. These events range from traditional sports to unique variations of relay races, tug-of-war, and events you will only see in Japan. The video below shows some examples of all the different types of events you can find at Sport Day.
To celebrate this holiday, MoCH will be giving out 100 Q7 food to all those that comment. Additionally, those that share their favorite sports and teams will receive 10 Q7 weapons. Also, if anyone has any favorite sports video games please list them, if there is enough interest and commonly played games, maybe we can set up some sort of match-up between the eCitizens later this month. I hope everyone has a great week and don't forget to join everyone on the eJapan discord server linked below.

To get things started, I watch a ton of sports and my favorite teams are all in Seattle such as the Seahawks (American Football, Mariners (Baseball), Sounders (Football), Kraken (Hockey), and Seawolves (Rugby). But my all time favorite teams has to be my Washington State University Cougars, Go Cougs! School has many different types of sports it competes in the top division of the US.
Growing up with a champion team in one sport and a team that usually struggled to get into the playoffs was always a sore point.....sadly this is still the case but with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers poised to steamroll to a three-peat championship, a rarity in any footbal league and not done by the Bombers since the 1961-1962 seasons I think I can overlook it. Now my Hockey team however, Im hoping they will do much better this year with Bowman at the helm and a nearly entirely new management/coaching team (1 coach survived) and a restructuring of the Captaincy of the team maybe they will finally play to their potential, which is a cup winning team.
I still got a lot to learn about Hockey, only really watched in the olympics until Seattle got a team, but I have enjoyed it so far. I follow the CFL when I see a Coug playing, had a couple of QBs in the league a few years back, but not too many in the league right now. Though, I hate to say it, I always rooted against the Blue Bombers because their logo looks real similar to my University's sports rival lol (Weapons & Food donated, thank you for commenting)

Field Day in the US has similarities while being very different. Typically marking the end of the school year, (many) primary schools host Field Day events, usually compromised of races, relays, tug-o-war, various other field games and sports. To the best of my knowledge there is no set day or date of observance nor is it nationally recognized but the child-friendly activities are quite similar. The youngest grade levels have some of the funniest events. My personal favorites to participate in were the running long jump and any sprint (short-distance) races.
