What has Erepublik Become?

I have played Erepublik for one year now and there are several things that are apparent (in no order):
- only about 6 to 10 people make the decisions that matter in this game (they are not admins either)
- The goal of the game is to see how much money you can extort from people, weather it is Russia having to pay thousands of gold to their allies for their own regions or the U.S. in an effort to survive
- the majority of the U.S. population is paying for sins committed well before their time
- There is no way for the U.S. to make a comeback (without paying blood money to be used against them), the timing of the citizenship module sealed their fate (it was fine for country's to take over others until it might have helped the U.S.)
- There is no place for real politics in this game (I don't really have a problem with that)
- There is no incentive for new American players to join (or new players in conquered regions).
- When you look at he map of the world you have 3 countries holding most of the regions, with little hope for new players in occupied regions of ever getting their regions back. The only way to get your regions back is to agree to help oppress others see Russia.
I have enjoyed almost everything I've done in this game and have tried to help everyone I could along the way. I'm proud of what the U.S. was able to accomplish in the last 7 months, we went from a military of about 80 (that fought 2 or 3 times a week) to over 800 now, I am proud of the way the military and for the most part the public has stayed together through this invasion from a defensive alliance. As an owner of 12 companies’ I have seen the number of players that quit when their region is occupied by another country.
It has be an honor to work with most of the military leadership (there are to many to name here) since March and every U.S. president since November.
Having said this, I'm going to semi-retire (two clicking and following orders) and tend to my company's. I will always be available if anyone wants help, I have always tried to help anyone that wants to learn and I will continue to do so. Congratulations to all defensive alliance's I hope you have everything you want, I just hope it is good for the game.

I agree with your part about only a handful of citizens making the real decisions. I understand that it help our eCountries if we follow orders, but it isn't much fun.

True, but this sort of thing happens IRL too.
You're an awesome dude leroy, it's been awesome getting to know you and work with you, do stick around, who knows when we'll need you.
Arnold@ this sort of thing does not and cannot happen in IRL, at least not for USA. That's why people from Third world countries take this game so seriously. They re trying to make it up for the things they ll never accomplish in rl.
Leroy it's been great to know you and even work under your command.
It's pretty dissapointing to see worthy citizens of eUSA quit one by one.
You've been an awesome leader in the U.S. Leroy, and I am happy to have worked with you on multiple occassions. Hope to still see you around a bit, even if it isn't as much as before. Best of luck to you.

IF Arnold is wrong and people paying "For the sins of the father" doesnt happen in Real Life (even in the US), then explain the following world events without talking about what happened in the past to provoke these events: 9/11, The 2004 Beslan School Attacks, The future collapse of Social Security, the current economic crisis in the US and the world, The Cold War, The Civil Rights Movement, World War II, World War I, The Bolshevik Revolution, The American Civil War, The French Revolution, and for fun explain Billy Joel's song "We Didn't Start the Fire," and I can keep going and going and going. Its just naive not to believe that each generation pays in someway for what happened before they arrived in real life or in a game in any country 1st World or 3rd World.
The biggest problem is that there is no "Game Over".
If the game would completely reset every 12 months or so, it would stay interesting.
Otherwise, you're going to have 10 third world nations running the game. Nobody will be able to start a new business that can compete with the government owned monopolies with 500+ employees. Politics will be dominated by small cliques. Militaries won't be needed, other than to quickly put down the occasional RW.
Boring.

Leroy, I know you'll stick around and pop your head in now and then, but if you don't I will miss you more than any other player in the game. You gave this noob back in November his first opportunity in the military, and now I owe everything that I've completed to you. Thank you so much for everything you've done for me and the eUS. Has been great working with you, and i agree with most of what you say.
To people commenting though.... labeling those countries that are beating us as "third world" nations is most likely the reason they are trying to kick our --- lol. Just food for thought
