A person put their name in to run for party president and because he wasn't one of the elites he was labeled a Party Take Over (PTO) threat, this is bogus. The only PTO threat we as a country need to worry about is one from another country that would do us harm. America as lost it's compass. Just because this person wasn't one of the chosen few he was labeled a PTO when in fact he was just running for party president of his own party. If you want to say he was an unauthorized candidate fine but how do become authorized when your party doesn't have a primary? This candidate doesn't go around kissing a__ he is a very gifted writer but our elites have decided it is better to run this candidate out of town on a rail.
We as a country are throwing PTO around way to much, there was no other country or take over group involved in this election so the next time there is another group are people going to take it seriously or just consider it politics as usual?
You have disappointed me and other people that try to make this country great as possible with your small minded petty politics. I just hope you have not done this country long term harm.

It's such a shame people are quick to call someone a PTO. I certainly never said he was.
Likewise, people are quick to call others elites or hop on the bandwagon that states the members of the elite of the Libertarian Party demanded that SamWystan withdraw. This is not true. It has become so convoluted now even I am having a hard time keeping track.

You become authorized by telling party members, especially the party president, well in advance if you plan on running in the party!
I believe that is a fair request because there is time required to inform the rest of the party and host a debate and campaign, etc.
What you DO NOT do is declare your intent to run for PP willy-nilly and then withdraw when ASKED (yes, ASKED for it was never a demand) only to resubmit your candidacy for PP the DAY BEFORE elections where you write an article that says you are quitting eRepublik and further states that even if you win you'll still quit and do nothing and allow everyone to run.
Hopefully, I will win this election because I would like to set the record straight tomorrow and work with SamWystan (if he doesn't quit) to address some concerns in the party.

@Iasov: I have to disagree with you. As long as the Admins allow somebody to declare their candidacy the day before elections, they should be free to. You've asked how the Libs can be less restrictive. Allow players to do anything that the game mechanics allow them to do. Let us leave the rule-making to the Admins -- and Congress where they have the power to alter the game mechanics.

I believe you have to declare two days before elections but that might be wrong.
At any rate, yes, it is a problem with game mechanics but I feel it is a courtesy. I let the ADTP know days in advance that I was taking over their party and look what has become of it.
At any rate, I have some work to do.

The term PTO gets thrown around way too much in this game. It's too easily used as a cheap way of mudslinging.

I agree that the term PTo is being thrown around and used to control the elections of not only the party presidents, but Congress and President also. Claire Littleton cried and moaned that Sam was getting votes from outside the Libertarian party and then in almost the same breath calls on the other parties to come to Iasov's rescue. Talk about two faced.

The US has too many regions to make a PTO feasible.
It's just something the elite use to control the outcome of elections.
