Staying silent occasionally does not imply indifference to what is said. It implies (in my case at least) concurrence. Speak when there is some major difference of opinion, otherwise, let it pass.

That's nonsense, and you know it Sambo. Perhaps "lack of engagement" as you put it could be due to the fact that we don't all feel we have to respond or vote on every message posted by someone else. That would lead to chaos. Most of what I'm hearing some quarters during this election is just "noise" or attempts to provoke a response.

As the discussions in Congress and participation report (https://www.erepublik.com/en/article/congress-roundup-march-they-represent-you--2765035/1/20) are being misconstrued here I can clarify:

Obvs what Keith describes as irrelevant meta votes are far from it. They cover TW arrangements, citizenship granting and the guidelines on what makes those discussions valid built on consensus from across congress (Keith felt this was very important when I broke a guideline I'm Feb!). But I'm sure Keith doesn't think they're irrelevant because he's the only TUP congressmen who participated in every single discussion and vote. Well done Keith!

Next, JRCS is mischaracterising the nature of the participation report which counted any single contribution from a congressmen in the course of an entire debate as participating in it, no one is required to contribute repeatedly or constantly to be counted. The report does not comment on whether Spamicans are the only party with meaningful things to say, but it does demonstrate the degree to which they are contributing to Congress. If JRCS concurs silently I will gently remind him that as a congressmen his opinion does count and specifically in order to count it he needs to vote.

There is no evil mathematic regime playing out here, but if the new standards for transparency are making TUP grandees squeamish then encourage participation rather than mudsling in comments which only a few people will see or read. I have a lot of time for JRCS and Keith but they are making disingenuous points in these comments just to have a sassy response to sambo223.

Well, as much as Keith and JRCS seem to think congress discussion isn't needed and that votes and debates outside of the game's systems are irrelevant it would appear the electorate has disagreed today as the Spamicans win the congress elections and pick up votes from outside the party in the process which highlights support from across the aisle.

Well, Sambo, it is a flagrant mis-representation of my views to suggest "congress discussion isn't needed". Of course it's needed! BUT, I don't have hours to spend pouring over long dissertations on the minutae of govt policy, or writing my own tracts to address each point.

My general view has been that congress and eGov have been doing a good job. on the whole and my silence was purely based on that view.

What I DO object to, is misrepresentation or exaggeration of anyone's views (especially mine), and it is then that I break my silence. As I j have on this issue.
