Resistance Forming in Alberta!
Sharlenwar
The categories aren't the greatest for newspapers. But here is another wonderful blurb of text for those of you out there to read. We need more votes for a resistance war in Alberta. I'm currently stuck here due to me buying a house here to complete a mission. I didn't realize it was timed and it wouldn't move with you. This is rather convenient timing, but I think if any of you out there want a fully united Canada, then we need to reclaim all of our territories that may have been lost due to wars.
But really, why does it matter if people are farming and set in a particular routine. Let's mix that up, do something different for a change and have some fun doing it. I personally would like to see all of the territories that Canada should have to be a reality in eRepublik here.
Aside from that, I'm continuing to farm and get my gold for upgrades and other related activities. I'm getting closer to messing around with the companies and see how all of that fun stuff works.
Let's do something different and switch it up a bit. Maybe I'm just naive and don't know any better. Would be nice to see us all as one solid country here. Sign up for resistance!

I used to care about Canada having all its regions and blah blah blah but the fact is the game is designed for coordination between allies for maximum production and in-game prosperity.
Canada is winning the game, insofar as it can be "won".
It's not our fault the game is boring hahahaha
EMBRACE THE TRAINING WARS
I can tell you don't even believe this anymore, because it reads as sarcasm. I'm going to help you get your eRepublik soul back by re-writing your post:
"This game is designed for real wars and global battles, which is in part why it was so the greater majority of the last 15 years.
Canada has been sold of by the current political pimps.
It is the current ruling elites fault that the game is not as entertaining as it could be.
RESIST THE TRAINING WARS.
The game is not entertaining. The Elites are making the best of it.
Come to the light side.
It's time to change it up and move forward. Clear up the whole thing from top to bottom.
Training wars? That's silly. We are meant to hold our territory, training wars can be in foreign arenas, not here at "home". Not abusing game mechanics for some gold.
Who says we are meant to hold our territory? Why would you put handcuffs on yourself like that?
The game is literally designed so countries can exchange regions and enter agreements for trade/rental. Failure to do so is a mistake, particularly for small countries like Canada.
And that's what I'm trying to understand TemujinBC. The upper levels of the politics. As you stated how the game is designed. Yet there is nothing around that gives enough information what that looks like. Looking through the eRepulik wiki yields not much. At least not enough as to how it all looks for the country. I don't see the pages that relate to that, maybe because they show up when you hold office? This was the part of the game that I found hard to crack into back in 2009/10. I'm definitely interested and please, do educate me because I love it!
So I'm curious, what are the agreements that Canada is currently in with other countries where regions have been exchanged? Are agreements like that public information?
I can see how Canada being able to control its own regions can be someone's goal. But I don't necessarily think that's a goal for the majority of players (different players can have different goals in a game and that's fine).
Personally, I like the idea of fighting to free parts of Canada that are held by unfriendly governments. More exciting than just fighting random battles. But are all the foreign occupiers doing so with the blessing of the Canadian government in this game?
Every "foreign occupier" is a friendly nation that has entered into an agreement with the Canadian Government. Some have resource concession plans in place, some are here just for training wars and farming.
Canada is a small nation with only 60-70 "active" players (ie log in daily, vote in elections, answer messages once in a while, etc). We would be wiped permanently by larger powers if we antagonized or tried to act like a lone wolf.
The game is a shell of its former self, imo, and this is really the best of all worlds. We get constant wars, are more productive as a nation than we would otherwise be, citizens get gold/cc from fighting, and no one needs to feel obligated to spend real life money like we (ahem me) used to back in the day.
"Let's do something different and switch it up a bit."
40 eCanada Congressmen just had massive panic attacks. Anything but status quo scares them.
Lol. 60 people voted in the last election. You act as if the 40 congress members are a minority that keeps the people down.
It's not 2014. This is how the game is played in 2024. It won't change if you play it like it's a decade ago. You can use your iPhone 6 and do the ice bucket challenge but it doesn't mean it's relevant again.
LOL!!!!!!!
I think you banged your head before you started typing, because none of your old man get off my lawn rant was relevant to my post.
Perhaps if the country played a more engaging style of gameplay people would stick around instead of dying off in record numbers. Time will take care of this as more yearn for more and the cracks start to form. Say what you will but hidden figures from your side are bankrolling me now in the name of lulz.
Resistance is all thats really left for the few of us that dare to be diffrent.
Supported.
I like beer.
I'd be up for being a part of this. Like Sharlenwar, I am a former player who returned after a long absence to check out what's going on with this game and see if it's worth playing today. And it does seem a little boring and rather purposeless on the whole. A war to try to take back Alberta would at least give me a goal to work towards. So the way I see it, why not do it?
Awesome stuff folks, let's go and get it done! Yeah, the game is boring, but I enjoy simplicity and boringness. That's why there are newspapers, etc. We are meant to generate that content to stir things up. Yeah there are game mechanics that can be abused, but I think we can still look past that and get back to enjoying a game which had to interest all of us at some point.
I have no concerns and also like beer.
